GRATITUDE:

* For the guitarist who plays like he should win himself a Grammy. He is that good. I can't wait for the book party, when we rehearsed together last night it was magnetic,he played while I read my poems and we created magic

* Salmon salad with avocadoes, yummy and healthy for lunch :)

* Dessert was banana pudding, i'm an addict

* My writers' group (WriteNow), we had a meeting on Sunday and it was productive and laid back. We value each other's opinion which makes the group even more speacial

* Working out, yesterday was my first day back at the gym and it felt grrrrreat!

* I discovered a poet blogger who fascinates me with his verses, check him out...i'm sure he'll appreciate the comments thelettershaper

* The sun was out this morning and I just stood still appreciating bodily heat, the sensation was intimate, but I quickly realized I better cross the street to make it to work, lol

(painting by Luigi Bariotti)

THOUGHTS AND PAPER
The earthy smell of water tastes like altitude sickness
Down the coast a French film crew sits and watches
While I putter hands on your flesh
Leaving reminders of our reality show
I prowl on neck, chest and lips
You are afraid of the mass media
prefer privacy with morning brunches
You drive through San Fernando Valley
with a hungry appetite for summer
I prefer to wait for you
in an evening marketplace of silk, art and souvenirs
I pause with the ink of my pen
Space turns me into black paper
Thoughts are left unspoken

Your last gratitude had a thread of haiku in it ; ) And your poem- a splendid mix of words and flesh.

I thought I'd share a few things I'm grateful for after your comment on my blog:

* The sweet love my parnter shares with me.

* My friend Ang for her wisdom shared in real ways.

* My walk along the river today and the birds who sang so lovely.

* My mom retiring after many years of hard work.

* The salmon, rice and veggies I had for lunch today ; )

First, I am sad that I missed your book party! I'm a Brooklyn girl!

I was revived when I read your poem. All I can say is WOW! That is the kind of poem I wish I could write if just in my dreams...

EhY!!!

Tomorrow is the great day!
But, is it your first book? I mean, if I were you, I would be SOOOOO excited!!!

I'm very sorry I won't be able to join your presentation. Well, crossin' the ocean is still too expensive for me in order to do it and organize it within a week.

But my hearth is with you from Italy.

SO, MY LADY, GOOD LUCK!!!!

:-D

"...Thoughts are left unspoken," though we don't like that because we want the magic to continue. You have a way with words. I'll never say it enough: it's the down-to-earthiness of the images that does it for me. Great.
