WOMEN OF JEALOUSY

Guess what?
I don’t want you to like me
Gain knowledge and control your emotions
Cleopatra handed me her power
Under a sexy petticoat of limbs
You envy what I offer to your men
The art of fantasy manifested with flare
You may call it lust
A greeting card of horseback riding
With tulips growing with purpose
But your jealousy turns green
When he grows long and hard
Well, I do have that ability to grope their mind
Profoundly
Digging my hands under his pants
Call it like it is
I am a Jezebel who aims to please
A Nefertiti with royal fingers
I rub his balls until they turn blue
Why the frigid stares?
I study critically the beauty of his shrieks
While my tongue kiss him at the tip
He sees God with eyes wide open
Gives him thanks for this spiritual vision
And yet you can’t stand his expression
He seems comatose
You fidget in your seat
Face flushing
You want me to stop
Stop sucking his presence of mind
Stop the suction that leaves him beaming
But if I stop I will gag

In case you didn’t know
Women have the ability to woo the mind
Without physical contact
In my opinion erotic poetry is as good as sex
You don’t even need porn to feel
All you need is a visual of words
The choice of words should be enough to get him aroused
In your opinion, do you think erotic poetry is considered porn?
Do you feel it’s a bit too graphic?
Does it belong in the romance department or too trashy?

Loved the poem (as usual).
To answer your question, I don't consider erotic poetry porn, but this is just my opinion. Like you said, words are very visual and I may invision something entirely different than what the writer may have meant. I'm not going to lie, your poems do make me wanna call my man up and start talking dirty to him but I think your peoms are more sensual than sexual. Besides, if erotic peoms are classified as porn, then I think they should classify all the music videos with scantilly clad women shakin their money makers porn also.

This was beautiful...always captivating.

You are correct...you do not need porn...a suggestion is much. more. effective.

Great poem... I think that erotic poetry is definately not porn. Writing like yours is about sensuality. It is about romance and sex, and the suggestion of what is to come, so to speak.

Great work and keep it coming.

as a writer of what can definitely be called "erotic," i dont consider it porn, i dont think it's too graphic, nor do i think it's too trashy. the beauty of the written word is trying to put your pace (as the reader) in the exact place the writer was when they wrote it.

I like erotica teamed with romance - it's nothing like porn at all. Lovely poem. The power of suggestion is terrific.

Hey sweetness.

No...erotica is not porn. No...porn is not erotica.

You do a most excellent job with a no touch approach to harden the masses with little mind scenes that can be carried into their lovemaking or just to rosy up some cheeks.

I dig graphic...trashy is ok...but I'd rather hear it spoken...lol

i think there is a happy medium in eevrything. i thing you can be detailed without being perverse, and graphic without being trashy. Its a matter of the finesse of the writer/speaker/poet/etc.

Words are very powerful and important. I'd rather we have a witty repartee than have you jump my bones in carnal fervor. Y'know?

By the way...no love lost. There are so many blogs I like and I barely ever get to read any of them. Trust you will be on my list to catch up on when I tread the winding trails of blogopia .

ooh wee... i love this poem. i think erotic poetry is literary gourmet for my the heart, body, mind, spirit, and soul. it is soul food if you will ... that opens up our senses and spirits to the beauty of sensual expression. it is the legacy of oshun, erzulie, kamala, venus, and other love goddesses. my favorite lines of the poem are:

"Well, I do have that ability to grope their mind
Profoundly
Digging my hands under his pants
Call it like it is
I am a Jezebel who aims to please
A Nefertiti with royal fingers
I rub his balls until they turn blue
Why the frigid stares?
I study critically the beauty of his shrieks
While my tongue kiss him at the tip
He sees God with eyes wide open
Gives him thanks for this spiritual vision
And yet you can’t stand his expression
He seems comatose"

keep writing. this is beauty beyond words. love and light, ananda

This is one of my favorites of yours I have ever read--mainly because of the whole jealousy theme. I don't get jealousy, cause I just don't have that kind of personality. I try to be understanding about it, I really do, but I equate jealous people with mean, untrusting people and I just can't digest that type of personality well.
I just love it.

your work is so beautiful… and moving… and paints a very vivid picture… you asked a very important question… and the answer can only lie in the reader… for some… erotic poetry will be pornographic… for others enlightening… for me… generally… love… sensulaity… sexuality… are kind of like religion… a very personal matter… something that i share with only a very special other… and i think you and omar have it right… sharing words is so much more powerful than sex although i wouldn't want toi have to chose between the two…

I believe erotic portry, depending on how erotic, can be considered romance. But take it too far and it can be considered porn. This right here I would consider romance. It is tastefully done and not overly graphic but graphic enough so that you know what is happening as you read without cloudiness.
