LYRICAL BULLETS
Sorry but I can’t
Don’t make me choose…
Cause I won’t
Thanks to those lyrics I’m able to take away the bad feelings
Why carry such negativity like a cadaverous face ravaged and brittle by osteoporosis?
Without lyrics you’ll leave my hips broken
My brain will shrivel
Even my walk will look funny
I’ll be the only one pigeon-toed with an overflowing beltline
No mental or intellectual lines
artless I will be
A murderous death, my suicide
With my lyrics I’m the painter
the philosopher, a rhythmic thinker
You can’t carry my cross
Its all mine, it’s in me
The day those lyrics touched me
I was rattled and survived
I will say it again I won’t choose
Without it I will die

A world without art? Hmmmmmm, it would be impossible to wake up one day without colors, without movement...a day without pens, pencils or brushes.
Can't imagine art not being mentioned by people, it would be a total discrimination. I love the playfulness of it, take a pen or pencil and run with it like poetry...the intimacy of it add a je ne sais crois.
So, I bought myself another sketch book (#4 now) and poured so much of my thoughts into it. I want to use it more like an art album for my daughter, she will appreciate it when she gets older i'm sure. She is catching up with me now, writing her little heart out and drawing...keeping journals like I used to when I was her age. I started at 8 and now I have over 100 journals from 1986 until now.
Three months ago if you would have asked me to take pictures, I would have looked at you funny and run, lol
The challenge I have with lupus is that one day I feel great, the next i'm sluggish and can barely move out of the bed, but the change of weather helps a lot. The sun comes out and i'm happy, I'm into flower and trees, I feel they speak to us daily, if only we take the time to listen to them. My mother's scented roses in her front yard are so natural, it drizzled two days ago and they slowly opened up to say hello to us.
I took a peak and thanked all of them for their introduction.
Another sunny day...

Hello Blog Family,
Well, as you know, my art show and sale was last Saturday. It turned out ok, about
19 people showed up, it was a first-time success and great networking with people in the AZ area. It's so diverse here, reminds me a little of NY but less stressful, of course. Although, I didn't have much sales I had a great time with my guests who got to eat and dance to Haitian and Salsa music, lol. They polished the floor all night until 11pm.
I had a friend of the family make the yummy lemon cake, he said it took him 4 days to prepare and he refused to give me the recipe, it was sooooooooooo delish and huge, lol. I put the rest in the freezer. As for food, I had appetizers from fried griyo which is fried pork, turkey meatballs, fried plantains, salad, chips and nachos.
I had 2 art tables, everything looked really nice. Didn't get a chance to take any extra pictures, was too busy entertaining. I plan to have another show in the spring...
